India thrashed England by 5 wickets in the 3rd ODI at the PCA Stadium in Mohali to take an invincible 3-0 lead in the 5-match ODI series.
Jonathan Trott missed his fourth ton by a whisker but his unbeaten 98 and an explosive knock by Samit Patel helped England set a challenging 299-run target for India in the 3rd ODI at the PCA Stadium in Mohali on Thursday.
Despite losing openers early, brave performance by the middle-order guided England to 298/4 in 50 overs. Trott was ably supported by Kevin Peitersen (64) and Samit Patel who remained unbeaten on 70 that came off just 43 balls.
Earlier, England won the toss and elected to bat in a must win encounter.
Leading the series 2-0, Dhoni’s men are looking for their third consecutive win against England, which had humiliated the Men-in-Blue during the recent tour.
England fielded an unchanged side. Indian skipper Dhoni also decided to go with the same brigade which thrashed the visitors at Delhi by a huge margin of eight wickets.
