Dhoom 3 is an upcoming Hindi action thriller film, written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and produced by Aditya Chopra. It will be the third installment of the popular Dhoom series. Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra will reprise their roles as Jai Dixit and Ali Khan while Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif form the antagonist duo. Dhoom 3 will be released on 25 December 2013.

Dhoom 3 is the first Indian local language production to be released in Imax format.
Dhoom 3 is scheduled to be released on 25th December 2013 i.e. on the occasion of Christmas which falls on a Wednesday.
Dhoom 3 is the first Bollywood movie to be released in Dolby Atmos surround sound. This technology enables a powerful and dramatic new cinema-sound listening experience. It allows sounds to move around the theatre to create dynamic effects and reproduces a natural and lifelike audio experience that perfectly matches the story of Dhoom 3.
Dhoom 3 is also the first time that Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif will be seen together on the screen.
Dhoom 3 is also the first movie in which Aamir Khan plays the role of an antagonist.
For Dhoom 3, the three main leads had to go through a tough diet and exercise regime. Aamir Khan hired a British trainer and checked his BMI everyday before breakfast. Katrina Kaif has worked out 5 hours daily and Abhishek Bachchan lost 9 kilos to prepare for his role.
For Dhoom 3, the actors also learnt new skills. Aamir Khan learnt Ballet, Diving, Aerobatics and Parkour while Katrina Kaif learnt paragliding and singing.
The trailer of Dhoom 3 will be released with another YRF movie ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’. The trailer has been kept under secret and producer Aditya Chopra created a special room to work on Dhoom 3 trailer. Only 3-4 people had access to this room and anyone wanting to enter the room had to get past three–tier security and a password protected door!
The budget of the movie is around Rs. 150 Crore i.e. US$25 million.
Dhoom 3’s satellite rights have been sold to Sony for Rs. 75 Crore, which is exactly half the amount of the film’s budget.
