Unexpected Experiences

We were about to leave on 24th January. The journey was all set. We packed our bags and were grumbling why this journey was so short. I wanted to stay long the classes had begun in my college. Missing more days was an absolute “NO”. Having 75% of attendance was a must. As we were piling up the stuff, I suddenly heard a guy talking aloud with my uncle and aunt. I went downstairs to see who he was. I was troubled to see that B.Com guy Sandeep again. He was staring at me from the narrow side while talking and his eyes were pathetic signals. I found it lewd. I didn’t know what was going in his filthy mind. I hated such guys to the core. They were zero in my sight. When my mom came down he wished her and talked politely to her. He was trying hard to impress her. But my mom was smart enough not to be carried off. She was good at judging people. She was completely unaware of that photos incident where he was clicking my pictures without my permission. I was petrified. I had never experienced such a thing in life. I just couldn’t say what I felt like. Sandeep told my uncle that he would accompany him to drop us at the station. That was definitely not a good indication. I ignored him for few hours and got busy with my cousins. I hugged everyone and took the blessings of my elders and then happily left in the car with my family. That Sandeep was on bike. He was trying to be the cool dude. I hated him to the core. I couldn’t control my frustrations. I was burning within. After half a way he took some other route and vanished away. I took a long breathe. We reached the railway station. Our train was about to arrive in 40 minutes. We were sitting and waiting and suddenly I noticed that Sandeep came along with a lean looking guy. I wondered who he was. He was Navin, Sandeep’s younger brother. He wasn’t present in the function because of his exams. He came greeted me and my family and sat besides my uncle. I found him decent. He talked in a decent manner. Then that Sandeep intervened. He wanted our family photo. So he asked Navin to click some photos in his brand new mobile (such a show off). We agreed. Navin clicked some photos and it was my golden chance to erase those pictures which Sandeep had clicked in that function. I asked Navin to show me those photos. He handed me that mobile. I went to the gallery and started searching for those pictures. I found them and then I showed them to my mom. My mom was shocked. I asked her to stay mum. I deleted those photos and my mom asked in Hindi what it was all about. Mom didn’t wish to create a scene so took me aside and asked for an explanation. I told her in detail about what had happened that day. She was upset as she expected me to share all these things with her. But I was helpless too. But then she told me that she will talk to my maternal uncle later on and will ask him to fix the things. Then suddenly we heard the sound of the engine. I was happy that finally this saga would end here. The train stopped and we all got in. Sandeep and his brother helped to get the luggage in. Now mom and dad got busy arranging the luggage. Now the actual thing happened. When Sandeep found that mom and dad were engrossed, he held my hand and handed me a bag of chocolates and a card. I was shivering. I refused initially but he coaxed. He waved good bye and asked to take care of myself. I was left speechless. The first thing I did was went inside the boggy and sat on my seat. I opened the bag and found that there were chocolates of heart shaped and a card. No words to express what was going on. It was so fast. Mom saw that bag and asked “Sweetu what is it?” I was bewildered. I told her everything in detail. My mom was fuming. She first made sure that the luggage was all set in the compartment and immediately called up my maternal uncle to inform about what had happened. Things were turning to be really ugly. I wondered what next god? Mom asked to sleep as it was very late already. I went to sleep, closed my eyes and tried to sleep but couldn’t. It was a very bad day. I was still shivering and I got fever. We reached the next day. My mom gave me medicines and asked me to calm down. I unpacked my stuff; suddenly my attention went to that packet of chocolates and card. I detested it. I thought I would give those chocolates to someone else. I didn’t wish to have it though they seemed delicious. Next day was a holiday; I went out with Dia for shopping. I didn’t know with whom to share this incident. But Dia was close enough. I could pour out my heart to her. I told her about how unexpected my trip was and I got fever after that incident. She was laughing all the way. She said “Oh god! Got fever just because a guy proposed you”. I gazed at her. She asked me to chill down and enjoy life. That was the best thing about Dia. She enjoyed and cherished every moment. She lived life in full spirits and that really went well with me. We had a small chat and then she left. Next day was going to be great because I would be joining my gang of girls in 2nd semester.
