RIM(Research in motion) recently launched their oldie Curve in a brand new avatar. They managed to rope in the starler Katrina Kaif as the brand ambassador for the phone.RIM’s this move suggest that they still want to get hold in the budget segment in India. As India being a country with major BlackBerry fans, RIM introduced this as “India only phone”. Its availability will be resticted to only India.
Lets have a look at what the newbie has got under its hood. It sports the familiar BlackBerry design with a nice full qwerty keypad, a basic 2 MP camera, a dedicated BBM key, and the new BB OS 7.1;it is the first BlackBerry to boast of FM radio and in what few will focus on but is perhaps the most important aspect in my opinion—has the best battery on any BlackBerry smartphone available today. It is slimmer & slightly sleeker as compared to the older 8520.The major downside here is that it does not have 3G, a low end 2.44-inch display with a resolution of 320 x 240. 512MB RAM and 512 MB ROM made the functioning pretty smooth on this device.
The curve 9220 is available at Rs. 10,990. We hope BB manages to sell a large number and the added katrina kaif tadka would definitely increase the number of buyers.
