Exclusive Interview with Sapna Vyas Patel

Sapna Vyas Patel is a Reebok Certified Fitness Professional and pursuing Doctorate. She has reduced 33 kgs of her weight, from 86 to 53 kgs in a year’s time. Sapna is supporting those who want to stay fit, reduce weight and keep it off forever through Facebook. For our readers, we took her interview.

Here is an extraction of our conversation with Sapna.

We all know the person by their outer grace, elegance and glimpse. But we all would like to know the real you from within. Tell us something about you.

I am honest in my efforts be it for others or myself and it reinforces positivity. I can’t do things half-heartedly. I do something or I don’t, I can’t commit myself to the mediocre. I give my best shot to achieve a desired result and the rest I leave to God. Whatever He has thought for me has to be good.

Well certainly you are a person with a shining heart. So besides this shine what is your individuality regarding academic and profession.

I am a doctoral student and a Reebok Certified Fitness Professional. I have done MBA full-time from Nirma University. Using my experience and knowledge, so far I have helped over 5000 people through Facebook in reaching their fitness goal without charging.

Coming back on the fitness track.  BB readers definitely keen to know the secrete behind your such a strong will of weight loss?

I was 86kgs initially and then came down to 53kgs in a year’s time. I lost 33 kgs. Even when I was fat I was very happy in my own skin. But, I was perceived more than my age and deep down somewhere it created a feeling of hurt. I didn’t like when once a stranger assumed me to be the mother of my niece and I was just 19. Such small incidences created the turmoil within. I chose not to accept the thing I could change.

Tell our readers, how you loss it and what you sacrifice for it?

I followed a fitness and diet routine. Dieting is eating right and not starving. I eat everything I want to but in the right proportion and at the right time. I never did crash dieting or even excess exercising. Initially I did intense Cardio and then switched to Weight Training.

Nothing worth achieving comes easy. We unconsciously know there are no short cuts to healthy weight loss. Fitness is a way of life and no magic pills are available. Fad diets may give you quick results but it will drain you of energy, put you at health risks and playing tricks with the body is not a wise choice.

Making is not as difficult as to maintain. So once you got such beautiful image it must be hard to maintain. Tell us  what you do to maintain fitness?

I plan my diet in such a way that I never feel hungry. I eat almost every two hours but in a small quantity. Our body craves certain type of food when it is deprived of it. For example, avoiding sugar completely would make the body crave for it. I keep check on my protein, fat and carbs sources.

After this tremendous change what differences you realize in your life?

I started loving the mirror, weighing scale soon became my friend, the clothes adorned by the mannequin started fitting me, people around me started appreciating my efforts gave me strength to be on track. I kept on telling myself, I may be not there yet, but I am closer than I was yesterday.

The physical change is visible but the real change happened inside. Weight loss can never be seen in isolation one has to modify the lifestyle as well as the thought process. It taught me patience, discipline and dedication. Most importantly I feel more confident.

    I am 21 years old and studding in Bombay. I have a query for my mom. My mom is 47 years old, Very active and she was just looked like 25-28 years old. Looked very young and beautiful, looking to her age. But since 2-4 months she lost her weight about 4 kgs From 58 to 53 Kgs. due to some stress and she is looking old and her skin also become loosen. I want to ask Miss Sapna whether her diet plan can tighten her face skin ? or any other diet plan can be keep my mom in her original beauty ? As her weight is now 53 kg..
    Please inform me about some diet plan which can improve her skin as well as to maintain her figure, it was before.
