Review of New Facebook Graph Search

Facebook introduced all new Graph Search just few days ago. Beta version of the project availed to the US users. I had listed my name in waiting list for the beta use, and I got Graph Search on my Facebook account today. I’ve been testing it out ever since. And here I am writing a review of Facebook Graph Search.

The Graph Search bar on Facebook has replaced my old search bar and now occupies a prominent place on the top tab of my Facebook homepage; the notifications, messages, friend requests tab are now on the right. The new design is giving Graph Search a lot more prominence.

Design changes aside, Graph Search now lets me search according to photos, people, places and interests/ likes on the social networking site. In short you can now type Photos of friend X in 2006 and get the relevant results if any.

If there are no Facebook results available for a particular search, the search will display Bing results.

Few Searches I made using Graph Search
  • My friends who like BuddyBits
  • My friend who go to Gujarat Technological University and who live in Surat, Gujarat
  • My friends who like Sufi Music
  • My friends who work at BuddyBits
  • Friends of my friends who are writers
  • Books Siddharth Jhala reads
  • Restaurants in Mumbai my friends have been to
  • People who like pages I like
  • Photos of my friends which I like
  • Web Designers in Ahmedabad

Isn’t it great? Now Facebook can understand what you want! You can find whatever you want on just a one click.
