Ahmedabad: Paying tribute to the nation on its 67th Independence Day, Harley owners from Ahmedabad, took part in the Freedom Ride by riding to Mahatma Gandhi’s birth place in Porbandar this morning. Nine Bridges Chapter, the Harley Owners Group from Ahmedabad, kick started the ride from the company’s dealership in the city. The ride was complemented with a donation to an old age home by the Harley Owners Group. The ride to Porbandar was a part of the nationwide Freedom Ride organized by local city chapters of the H.O.G. across the country to celebrate of freedom and brotherhood on the occasion of Independence Day.
Now in its second year, the Freedom Ride was organized across Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Kochi, Chennai and Chandigarh. In Chandigarh H.O.G’s from the Himalayan chapter, rode together to the Wagah border to salute the nation’s real heroes and celebrate the day with the jawans. Down south H.O.G’s from the Spice Coast Chapter in Kochi rode to Karuna, Nilayam Old Age Home and spent the day with the residents. In Chennai, HOGs from the Coromandel Chapter undertook a fundraiser ride and rode to Gurkukan School for the under privileged. Bengal Chapter Kolkata, came together this morning for a ride from Kolkata to the beautiful temple city of Bhubaneswar.
Seven Islands Chapter Mumbai, Captial Chapter Delhi, Tusker Chapter Bangalore and Banjara Chapter Hyderabad also rode together to usher in India’s 67th Independence Day.
