Uff Yeh Feelings 2
At evening Isha went to the food joint they decided. When she reached, she saw Tani was already there but was talking to a group of girls. She went and joined them hesitatingly, Tani smiled at her and introduced her to them,
“She is my best friend Isha and Isha they are girls from my neighborhood, they are here to celebrate Aayushi’s birthday.” She said pointing towards a girl.
“Oh hi, happy birthday” Isha said to her.
“Thanks, join us.” Aayushi, the birthday girl said.
“O no, me and Tani have to talk about something really important, about school, you guys enjoy.” She said with a smile and then she almost dragged Tani towards the other seat.
“You just missed a party! And even didn’t let me have the free food too!!” Tani said making a baby face.
“Oh Shut up!! Just tell me what happened? I am getting so curious” Isha said as she they both took a corner seat.
“Wait.. lets order something first, two burgers?” Tani asked checking out the menu.
“Naah, just a coke nothing else, I am full, you tell me no” said Isha.
After paying for food, Tani came back with the burger and a coke. Isha was desperate to know what was going on in Tani’s mind, she tried to read her expressions but just could not figure out.
“So, you know Tarun? That tall guy in our class?” Tani asked looking at her cell phone.
“Of course, yes, he is a very good friend of mine.” Isha asked further. “What about him?”
“Your good friend? I have never seen you both talk much in class.” she said gaping at her.
“Yeah actually he is like that, a bit reserved type, we are friends since 6 years and we don’t show much in class because you know how it is, we don’t want any rumors to spread about us, but I know him pretty well, I think I know him better than any of his male friends.” Isha said with a smile.
“Oh so you might know it, he must have told you, then why didn’t you tell me?” Tani said in a low voice.
“What? I am losing my cool, would you please tell me or should I leave?” Isha got a bit irritated.
“Ok, listen, I got to know he likes me.” she said with a slight smile.
“He whaaattt? No he is not like that, I know him, he can’t fall for any girl, he just loves one girl and that is Emma Watson” Isha said a bit surprised.
“Emaa who? wo harry potter wali? Shit maan, and gay to nahi hain?”Tani asked with mischief in her eyes.
“No. He is a huge fan of the Harry Potter series and had a crush on Emma, leave that how do you even think he likes you?”
“You remember Rohit lives near my house? He told me, when we were returning back from school today” Tani said, concentrating on her burger.
“Rohit? Oh yea they are close friends, but what I know he don’t like you or any other girl, he must have told me otherwise.” Isha was too confident about it.
“Ok let it be, I don’t care, I don’t like him at all, I mean sorry he is your friend, but look at him, he feels so lost all the time.”Tani said carelessly.
“Hmm, but he is a good person at heart.” Isha said this and kept silent for all the while. Tani kept on discussing about physics practical, chemistry madam’s latest haircut etc., and Isha just kept on nodding at her. She was silent, she was shocked and she was broken. Isha dialed Tarun’s number as soon as Tani took a turn towards her house.
“You like Tani?” she snapped as he picked up the call.
“What? Who told you this? And i suppose people say ‘hello’ when they call someone right Ishu?” Tarun said with a calm voice.
“Tarun don’t play around and tell me is it true? Just answer me for God sake” Isha was almost shouting. Her heart was thumping loudly, she could even hear it.
“Ohh you are serious now. I know it, because you just took my name and didn’t call me by my nickname, O God, I am so scared, so badly scared.” he kept on teasing her; maybe he was trying to divert her attention from that topic.
But she was in no mood to change the topic, she shouted this time, “Tarun cut the crap and tell me what is up with you? What is it with Tani?”
“Areey tell me who told you? And where are you by the way.” Tarun kept on avoiding the question.
Isha just could not bear that ignorance anymore and she just disconnected in anger. She reached her home, went to the washroom and started to cry, it felt like all her frustrations were overflowing through her eyes. She looked at herself in the mirror, and her swollen red eyes, “why am I crying? For whom?” she asked herself. “Me and Tarun are just good friends, why I am so disturbed if he likes someone? Do i..? No no no.. I can’t love him, I DON’T love him!” she washed her face quickly and rushed out.
“What you had? You brought me something?” her mother asked, she didn’t answer her. She did not even talk to her father at night, didn’t take her dinner, didn’t even played with pixy, her dog, and just got all mugged up in her room. Her parents were worried, they wanted to know what was wrong with her, but she wasn’t in any mood to talk. “I am not well Mummy, just let me sleep please.” She said when her mother came to her room with dinner. “Ok, take this medicine if you want.” She said, kept her hand on her head lovingly and left. Isha then took out her books and tried her best to study, but couldn’t, finally she decided to sleep.
She wasn’t getting any sleep and was restless, and then she thought of hearing her favorite playlist to soothe herself. She searched for her cell phone and realized she had not taken it out from her jacket’s pocket. She walked towards the washroom slowly and started to search for her jacket. As she got her cell phone, she saw there were so many miscalls from Tarun, few messages from Tani too. She went back to her bed and slipped in, thinking to not reply them back but soon Tarun called again. She knew she had to face it, if not today then tomorrow but she can’t escape it. Isha took a deep breath and pick up the call.
