Movie Review: Phata Poster Nikhla Hero

Phata Poster Nikhla Hero Movie Review

Honestly I was not expecting anything from Phata Poster Nikhla Hero. But I must say, movie is obviously better than my expectations. After watching movie, I felt trailer could have been made better!  PPNH is a story of a man who wants to be a superhero and her mother wants him to be a good police officer. Shahid Kapoor, playing Vishvas Rao came to Mumbai to give a test to join police force on insist of her mother. In stead of going for the test, he starts searching for an opportunity to join film industry. This movie is all about his struggle and about how he finally ends up being a good police officer. Direction of the movie is good, could have been better for sure. Movie will remind you of many previous bollywood flicks. Director hasn’t done proper homework! Story is average. Similar to typical bollywood movies. Dialogues, which writer thinks are funny are not at all funny. Performances are good. Shahid Kapoor is good. Ileana D’Cruz’s role in movie doesn’t have impact. Darshan Jariwala is good. Padmini Kolhapure as Shahid’s mother has over acted. Charm of the movie is music. Janam Janam and Mein Rang Sharbaton Ka are really impressive songs, I am already fan of these two. After Aashiqui 2, these 2 songs are here to stay forever. Atif Aslam is excellent as usual. Background score is good, which may give you feelings of Tom and Jerry.

First half of the movie is a bit better than average. First half ends and second half starts with emotional scenes. Starting of second half is dull. But the story gears up.

Plus Point

Music is obviously the biggest plus point of this movie. Mission White Elephant, which is a main part of the movie is interesting to see.

Minus Point

Story is average. Direction is below average. Female lead Ileana D’Cruz has not added much to the movie. Movie contains many dull moments, which may bore the audience.

If you spends a lot on movies, Phata Poster Nikhla Hero is a one time watch for you. If you liked Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani, you will surely like this one. If you are not a fan of typical bollywood melodrama films and you don’t like to waste money and time after light comedy movies, this one is not for you.
