What Indians gifted the most this Valentines Day?

Pune: With Valentine’s Day celebrations extending far and wide, one gift portal reveal some amazing facts about online shopping for the day of love by Indians. In the midst of increased hectic lifestyle, online shopping has become a trend, bringing in convenience for the urban population. The shopping portals today help in saving time and bring in a surprise element of receiving a gift when it is unexpected.

Having surveyed across different age groups and cities, the new study has brought a novel perspective on the psyche of Indians, when it comes to choosing a gift for their Valentine.

As per the survey findings, chocolates and flowers have been the most preferred gifts for men (Chocolates: 59%; Flowers: 55%) amd women (Chocolates: 38%; Flowers: 39%). However, the other preferred gifting items, for Women, the top three gifting items: Perfume- 59%, Handbag & Wallet- 47% & Watches- 59%. For Men, the top three gifting items: Handbag & Wallet- 41%, Perfume-32% & Watches- 37%.

Some of the key findings revealed that the minimum order for Valentine’s Day started around Rs. 200, but most popular ranged between Rs. 500-1000/-. The average consumers placing orders range between 25-35 years (50%) & 18-25 years (41%). The most popular ordering hours were 11.00 am -1:00 pm and then again around midnight.

Thus, it has been observed that, during Valentine’s Day, gifting portals have emerged as the cupid for young urban population.
