Movie Review: 2 States

Much awaited and much talked 2 States hits the screens today. Film is adopted from Chetan Bhagat’s best seller novel 2 States, directed by Abhishek Varman and produced by Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala. Alia Bhatt is playing role of Tamilian brahmin and Arjun Kapoor is playing Punjabi guy. They both fall in love during their studies in IIM Ahmedabad. One the way of their marriage, they have to face many problems which every typical Indian couple in love faces. Story goes around how they make their marriage work. At some moments in the movie, you might get bored. Script is lengthen unnecessarily at some parts after the interval. First half is charming. Starting of second half is a bit boring but finally catches the grip. Overall it’s a very very good movie.

Story is not unique, but the script contains originality. Dialogues are very good. Direction of the movie is very good. Cinematography is simply beautiful. Movie is colourful, locations are astounding. Music is brilliant. Every song in the movie tells a story. You won’t get bored by songs at all.

Arjun Kapoor is good. Alia Bhatt is gorgeous and has acted very well. Ronit Roy’s performance in 2 States is appreciable. Supporting caste of the movie is very good; casting is done brilliantly.

What’s Good?

Excellent cinematography, colourful set and locations, music and dialogues are awesome.

What’s Bad?

Some of parts are lengthen unnecessarily.

2 States is a super cute, colourful and charming movie. One of those which you can enjoy more than once. Good story, very good direction, amazing cinematography and brilliant music, 2 States has it all. Highly recommended from
