Road Runner, Richie Rich, Tom and Jerry. All of us had a glorious childhood watching this super awesome cartoons. We at BuddyBits turn the clock back as we take you back to your childhood. You’ll definitely feel nostalgic!
One of my personal favourite cartoon. Its based on 6 close friends studying in 4th grade fighting hard to survive the school. This cartoon depicts the life of these kids as they go about their lives in a highly cliched school environment which is a kingdom of its own. They have a king, king Bob who is a 6th grader and rules the school playground and has his bunch of army who’ll do anything to carry out his command. All in all a fantastic cartoon series which shows how recess is important to kids and how they develop meaningful relationships during that period.
P.S: I felt so nostalgic writing about this cartoon that I watched nearly 3 hours of back to back recess episodes on YouTube. 😛
8. Road Runner
The evergreen cartoon of our age. Probably the most funny one too. A part of looney toons family, Wily E. Cayote tries to catch a fast, hard running bird Road Runner, but his plans are never successful and always humorously backfires on him. To your surprise this cartoon series has been active since 1949 and our beloved Wily was included in TV Guide’s 2013 list of nastiest villains of all time. *Beep Beep*
7. Dexter’s Laboratory
A story of a short but evasively brilliant kid who has a laboratory built beneath his house which is quiet unknown to his parents except for his annoying elder sister Dee Dee who keep visiting his lab and destroy things and Dexter tries hard to keep her away from it but the little genius cannot contain her. He also engages in bitter rivalry with a neighbouring kid Mandark, who is shown equally brilliant.
Every child who watched this cartoon wished they could be as strong as him. A story of an honest sailor who loves spinach more than his girlfriend Olive Oyl. Everytime he eats Spinach, he get tremondous energy and beats the hell out of his enemy who is Brutus most of the time. Also Popeye has quite a lookalike nephews with quite similar names Peepeye, Pupeye, Pipeye and Poopeye. A fun fact for every Popeye lover, the cartoon was first published in 1929 and in 2002 TV Guide ranked Popeye on 20th rank on its 50 Greatest cartoon characters of all time.
5. Power Puff girls
They are the cutest superheroes ever. The story of 3 sisters who were not born rather produced. Their father accidently mixed so called “Chemical X” along with sugar, spices and everything good and hence they were born with superpowers. The girls Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup have their own colour Pink, Blue and Green. These girls fight hard to protect their city Townsville from the villains like Mojo Jojo, Him, The Ganggreen Gang etc.
4. The Flintstone
Our stone age hero, who lived a fairly modern life in the humble city of Bedrock. The city had cavemen who would listen to records and dine into restaurants. They had tamed dinosaurs who would punch their time cards and carry them to and fro. Our hero Freddie Flinstone lives in split home with his wife and daughter and also is good friend of his neighbour with whom they often hangout. A fun fact in 2013, TV Guide ranked The Flintstones the second Greatest TV Cartoon of all time. All hail The Flintstones!
3. Richie Rich
The kid which we envyd the most. Presumably the richest cartoon to grace our television screens. The poor little rich boy who would always get into some or other kind of trouble. His troublesome dog Dollar and his robotic maid Irona! I so wanted such maid.
2. Scooby Doo
Ahh! The great Dane and his trouble seeking team of teenagers who solved mysteries mostly related to supernatural powers often led by the Great Dane Scooby Doo! These bunch of friends are crazy and smart at the same time.
1. Tom and Jerry
It doesn’t need any introduction. Favourite cartoon of all age groups. Based on very common plot of rivalry between cat and mice. Our beloved Tom always in hunt of Jerry who always escapes and the plan would backlash Tom in undoubtedly hilarious manner. The best cartoon ever for the 90’s kids. I miss it so much. 🙁
