Tell us something about yourself.
Well, I am a fun loving guy and an entertainer. I’ve got multiple talents such as acting, mimicry, mono-acting, choreography for freestyle dance, photography and DJing. I also play instruments like dholak, conga and drum.
What did you wanted to be when you were a child?
My dream was to be a successful actor.
Oh, so it’s a dream come true; tell us about your journey so far?
I started my career when I was 18 year old in 2007. I struggled a lot to achieve my goals. I got my 1st TV commercial that of Videocon with the SRK. During my struggle period, I did more commercials as my face suits for ads and movies. So I also kept trying for movies. Then I got two serials, ‘Lagi Tujhse Lagan’ and ‘Teri Meri Love Story’ on Colors and Star Plus respectively.
While doing commercials, I got a chance to work with many celebrities like, Sonu Nigam, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Shreya Ghosal for X Factor reality singing show promo, Priyanka Chopra for Nikon commercial, Nargis Fakri for Parachute oil ad, Virat Kohli for Celkon mobile, Parineeti Chopra for Kurkure, Akshay Kumar for Eveready battery.
I have done more than 70 commercial ads till now. And I am also the brand ambassador of XMEX Clothing for their exclusive plus size products. *smiles*
I recently acted in Balaji Movies’ XXX; which is a combination of five different stories. Shoot of the movie is still going on. So can’t say anything on it’s release yet. And I’ve played an important role in upcoming film, 1982- A love marriage; which is in editing process right now. In this movie, I’m playing a rude Haryanvi man. So going from a comic character to a serious one.
You did a movie 6-5=2 recently. What is it about? Share any memorable incident while it’s making.
Title name ‘6-5=2’ was a south blockbuster movie which is now remade in Hindi with the same name. This is a story about 6 friends who go on a trek and they never come back as they experience something crazy. It is based on a real incidents took place in South, newspapers covered it too and those people are still missing.
In this movie I am playing a comedy mischievous character who always do masti with friends. One secret I want to share is, I experienced a spooky incident. There was one shot of mine where I was tied up in tree and I fainted for half an hour and after that I didn’t know where I was. We were shooting in Bangalore jungle, it was so scary and after 2nd day I was getting bad horrific dreams, so I will say that I really experienced horror.
Oh, hard to believe. But tell us, are you happy with response movie has got?
Well yes I am happy, movie has got a good response from youth as they loved the movie and my character, Harsh Lulla, too.
What are your future plans?
My future plan is to do a good business and to reach a great height in acting field as my dream is to be a successful actor.
Which kind of movies interests you more?
I am more interested in comedy, where it is tough to bring smile on people’s face.
Who is your role model?
Role model is nobody specific, but yes I love Naseeruddin Shah, Irfan khan, Nana Patekar , Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Anupam Kher sir.
Is your family supportive about choosing acting as career?
My family is quite supportive as my mom is a folk singer herself. She sings Jain Bhajans and all; she plays Dholak too. And my dad who is a businessman, is supportive too.
What advice would you give to aspiring actors?
My advice to upcoming actors is that, always do what you want to do. Never look back in your life. Love yourself and be yourself.
