BITS Pilani Goa to organize Startup Expo Coalescence this month!

Any person that has a new idea can be said to be a potential entrepreneur. But what separates an actual entrepreneur from a potential entrepreneur is who acts to realize those ideas and who doesn’t. Some people have the will but lack knowledge and resources to start their entrepreneurial career. For people like those BITS Pilani K K Birla Goa Campus has announced Coalescence 2015, an event that focuses on realizing potentially brilliant ideas.

Coalescence was held last year too and was a huge success. This year it will be bigger and better.

The main focus of the event is the Bplan Competition, Novatia. Nearly 1.5 Lakhs Rupees in cash prices and about INR 20 Lakhs in seed funding will be awarded to the winners. In addition to cash prizes, the winning teams also get free co-working space, free incubation, acceleration support and mentorship at leading start-ups growth hubs in Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad etc. through its partners.

For those that don’t wish to participate there is the ACT 2.0, where top entrepreneurs of various industries will share their knowledge and experience with the upcoming generation of entrepreneurs. A. C. T. stands for Act, Create and Transform. This conference is a very valuable resource for people that are interested in entrepreneurship. Prominent speakers like Dr. Pawan Agarwal (CEO, Mumbai Dabbawala Association), Alok Shetty (Founder, Bhumiputra Groups), Biswa Kalyan Rath (Stand-up Comedian), Kunal Shah (Founder, Freecharge) and more were involved with Coalescence last year.

Besides these events Coalescence is also holding a Hackathon in association with HackerEarth. The event is a competition involving solving 3-4 problems of various difficulty in a given time period. Winners will be awarded cash prizes and goodies.

There will also be workshops to help budding entrepreneurs gain an edge in the market. These workshops will be focused on Ideation, Funding, Lean Start-up Methodology and other such topics; something that any budding entrepreneur shouldn’t miss.
