Cineman Productions Ltd. (Abhishek Jain lead production house), which gave films like Kevi Rite Jaish and Bey Yaar, raises the bar of Gujarati Cinema. The production house has announced their tie-up for 3 Gujarati films today.
Ever since Cineman Productions Ltd. began its journey in Gujarati films, the intent has been to raise the bar of Gujarati Cinema. Kevi Rite Jaish being the first of its kind ‘urban’ Gujarati film, was followed up with Bey Yaar which somewhere managed to open the multiplex flood gates for Gujarati films not just in Gujarat but also in Mumbai and in the overseas market.
In 2016, Cineman Productions Ltd. goes a step further and collaborates with a very renowned, reputed, a first of its kind film director’s company in India – Phantom Films, the partners of which are Vikas Bahl, Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, and Madhu Mantena.
Abhishek Jain, the director of Kevi Rite Jaish and Bey Yaar said, “The intention of this tie- up is to give Gujarati films a national level projection. The experience and the expertise that Phantom Films come with will surely help us achieve this and also with them joining hands with us, we have got access to a lot of good talent which in turn will add a lot of value to the film”.
Echoing a similar thought, Amit Desai, the Creative Producer for Cineman Productions said, “The idea is to bring the best of both the worlds together and give the audience a truly new experience.”
Vikas Bahl, the director of Queen, when asked to comment on the tie-up said, “Over the last few years, Gujarati films have gone through a refreshing change and Cineman has been on the forefront. At Phantom, our core belief is creation through collaboration and thus, we are very happy to be a part of this change with Cineman. We are sure that together, we would be able to entertain you with some really good films.”
The first film of the tie-up is a thriller drama to be directed by debutant director Mikhil Musale starring Pratik Gandhi, Asif Basra, Kavi Shastri and Kimberley Louisa Mcbeath. Music will be scored by Sachin-Jigar. The film has been written by Niren Bhatt, Karan Vyas and Mikhil Musale.
“I am extremely glad that my first film is a co-production between Cineman and Phantom. I couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity than this. Now the responsibility is even more and I will try my best to live up to the expectations everyone has from me.”, Says Mikhil.
The second film will be directed by Abhishek Jain himself who says that the film is still in its writing stage and an official announcement of the same will be made very soon. The third film is going to be directed by a new talent who will be selected from a writing and direction workshop that will be held later this year by Cineman Productions Ltd. and Phantom Films.
Well, the announcement has left everyone in the industry curious. And even we are looking forward to seeing these films produced by Cineman Productions and Phantom films together. What do you think? Add your views in comments below.
