Indian television actress Pratyusha Banerjee committed suicide on 1st April at her residence in Mumbai and some Indians in the same industry have touched a whole other level of disgust and stupidity. When her family and friends are still in shock; her mother hasn’t stopped crying yet, we have some celebrities who are trying to get publicity and hits out of her suicide.
Bollywood blogger Miss Malini, who is known for her blogs on bollywood and fashion tried to garner hits on her website through clickbait articles over someone’s death. She has posted total 21 clickbait articles on Pratyusha’s suicide out of which, 9 were posted within three hours of the news of her death. Some of the titles and the way those articles are written will surely make your blood boil.
Here is an example of her stupidity. She wrote an article titled “A Hysterical Kamya Panjabi Opens Up About Pratyusha Banerjee’s Suicide.” And when you click the article, it contains only nine words “We take life for granted and today she’s gone.” Here is a link to the article. This is not it. Majority of articles she wrote on Pratyusha’s suicide are clickbaits. What has happened to the journalism?
Another blood boiling step is taken by drama queen Dolly Bindra. She called Pratyusha’s mother when she was in hospital with her dead daughter. She recorded entire conversation, which included her mother sobbing and didn’t stop there. She leaked that recording with the media.
And almost all online media websites shared that audio on their websites, just to get few clicks. Miss Malini, Business Of Cinema and Bollywood Life were the first ones to spread this audio.
Dolly Bindra didn’t stop here. She also took photo with Pratyusha’s dead body and shared it on social media. Totally disgusting.
And after Dolly Bindra, another drama queen of bollywood Rakhi Sawant, today tried to gain publicity through Pratyusha’s suicide. She called a press conference. And asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to replace all fans in India with AC. As fans are the reason why people are hanging themselves to the death according to her.
What came as a shock is that noted actress Hema Malini posted series of tweets indirectly shaming Pratyusha. Through three tweets, she told people that suicides are senseless.
1. All these senseless suicides which achieve nothg! Life is God’s gift for us to live not for us to take at will. We have no right to do that.
2. One must learn to overcome all odds & emerge successful, not succumb under pressure & give up easily. The world admires a fighter not a loser
3. Just becomes food for the hungry media who chew on news like celebrity suicides until the next sensational news happens.Thn it is forgotten
We don’t disagree with her opinion. But timing she chose to share this thing is absolutely inappropriate. She played with the sentiments of Pratyusha’s closed ones. Shaming someone who is dead is very immature thing to do. We don’t know what she must had gone through before taking this drastic step. Don’t judge someone unless you’ve walked few miles in their shoes.
We are deeply saddened by the act of these websites and entertainment personalities. BuddyBits requests people not to give hype to such acts in future. Let’s not make someone’s death a joke. You don’t know what she might have gone through, or what her closed ones are going through right now. Stop stooping so low.
[Note: Our intention with this article is just to spread the awareness. We are ashamed of the acts done by these media websites and celebrities. They took advantage of someone’s death to garner publicity. We need to be more sensible about such incidents in future. Avoid sharing such kind of articles, avoid giving them publicity in exchange of humanity.]
