Popular Indian television actress Pratyusha Banerjee has committed suicide today. She was found hung in her house today evening. News websites and media is stating her relations with her fiancé Rahul Raj Singh to be the reason behind her suicide. According an article on Bollywood Life, Pratyusha spoke to her fiancé just before committing suicide.
We contacted popular Bollywood publicist Dale Bhagwagar to get a lead. Among other things, he pointed out an incident which happened in the recent past, where there was news of Pratyusha being molested by eight people posing as policemen in January. Our team looked into the matter. In January 2016, she had registered an FIR against eight policemen for molesting her. Here is what happened.
On 31st December 2015, a person from Kotak Mahindra bank came to her house to collect installment of a loan. He was drunk. He didn’t leave her house even after she paid him the money. Hence her fiancé came to the rescue and forced him to leave the house.
On 5th January 2016, eight men came to her house in civil dress code looking for Rahul Raj Singh. Pratyusha told them that he doesn’t live there. It’s her home. But they forcefully started searching her house. They pushed her several times. They tried to harm her physically. When finally Pratyusha called 100 for help, they left in a police van. Pratyusha noted the number of their vehicle.
She rushed to Kandiwali West police station to register a complaint. Police kept denying to register the FIR. The vehicle number which Pratyusha had noted was of a vehicle of the same police station. Later when more people ran into the police station along with Dolly Bindra, they registered an FIR.
Pratyusha gave official statement to the media same day.
There is no development in the same story since January. But this incident cannot be ignored as it happened just three months prior to her death.

Dale Bhagwagar also shared Pratyusha’s last seen on Whatsapp is 12:34 PM. And her last Whatsapp status read “Mar ke bhi munh na tujhse modna”, which indicates that there was no problem between her and Rahul Raj Singh. Here is a snapshot of her Whatsapp profile.
No official statement has come yet; neither from the family nor from the police. But there are two possible reasons behind this drastic step of her. Either she was going through some problems in her relationship with fiancé Rahul Raj Singh or she took this step because she was still being harassed by those people who posed as policemen.
She died at the age of 24. Industry is in deep shock. Our condolences with the family. May her soul rest in peace.
