A very beautiful hill station situated in the Dang district of Gujarat. It has a beautiful view from the top and is very popular among honeymoon couples and is also often termed as ‘the Switzerland of Gujarat’. There are hotels you can get there for very cheap prices if you bargain and enjoy the rope-way while you cruise the beautiful scenic area!
3. Hampi
It’s an ancient village recognized as a World’s Heritage Site by UNESCO. It’s located in Karnataka state of India and it was one of the largest and richest cities of its time! You can. Its merely 340 KM from Bangalore city and you can get there for INR 1000 and stay at any local places for around INR 2000 max. It’s a good tourist place and has many stories and facts from the era during (1450-1550).
4. McLeod Ganj
The home to the spiritual guru Dalai Lama, this place is located in Himachal Pradesh and is just around 5-6-hour drive from Delhi. It has several places to visit like Bhagsu Falls, Shiva Café and many more. It’s known as “Little Lhasa” or “Dhasa” because of its large population of Tibetans. You can catch a government or a private bus to the location costing you around INR 500-700 and the accommodation will cost you around INR 500 and you’re all set!
5. Vrindavan
The sheer spiritual place of India also knows as the birth city of Lord Krishna! The town is well known for having temples there like Radha and Krishna, Meera bai and Balarama. Other sacred places are Seva Kunj, Sriji Temple, Jugal Kishore Temple, Kusuma Sarovar, Imli Tal, Kaliya Ghat, Chira Ghat, Varaha Ghat and Samadhi of Swami Haridas. Plus, it’s a delight to watch the natural scenery with all the swans, birds and cows all over the town and plush green leaves and flowers just romancing their way into your heart!
6. Rishikesh
Located in the northern part of India in the state of Uttarakhand near Himalayas with the Holy river Ganga passing by! The place is all lined up with temples and ashrams and is alcohol-free for maintaining a holy atmosphere to worship the Gods.
7. Binsar
If you’re a big time nature lover, we’ve got just the place for you! Binasar is a wildlife sanctuary in the Himalayas in the top of the ‘Jhandi Dhar’ hills. Its 388 KM from Delhi via NH-24. You can easily catch a bus for INR 1500-2000. It’s well known for its variety of birds!
8. Nandi Hills
It’s an ancient hill fortress just 60 KM away from Bangalore and is famous for the view of the morning rising Sun! Often students and couples form Bangalore visit there and stay overnight in their own tent for a beautiful wild-like experience! You can drive there with your friends catch a bus from Bangalore’s main bus station called ‘Majestic’ for dirt cheap!
