We couldn’t have seen this one coming! Yes, there are reports of a film to be made on the life of our former Indian National Congress Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. The film is to be named ‘Manmohan Singh – The Accidental Prime Minister’. The movie is based on the 2014 memoir by Indian policy analyst Sanjay Baru named ‘The Accidental Prime Minister: The Making and Unmaking of Manmohan Singh’. Sanjay was Manmoham Singh’s media advisor from 2004 through 2008.
The film is set to be released in the fourth quarter of the year 2017 but the teaser won’t make you wait much. The teaser is to be released on 30th August of this month. Yes! Just two months later. This film will be produced by Sunil Bohra who has produced over 140 films which include movies like ‘Shaheed’, ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur’ etc.
What does this film depict?
At the very beginning of the film, it’s said “A person takes a long time to pave his way through the very top to become the Prime Minister and it’s like a dream to the people who want to be the Prime Minister of the country. But this is the story of a person who never had a dream really to become a prime minister and yet somehow he made it to the top! There’s a man who was unknown of the fact that he was going to be the Prime Minister of the world’s largest democracy the very next day!”. Bohra said that they have researched the book written by Sanjay Baru for almost 8 months and they’ve reached a conclusion that they’ll just not make a documentary but they’ll make a full feature film on the same.
According to the reports, for the role of Sanjay Baru, filmmakers want to sign Manoj Bajpayee. Also the full functioning of the Prime Minister’s office is shown in the movie for giving it a touch of reality!
