Well, we’ve all been back and forth regarding the controversy of the movie ‘Udta Punjab’ starring some of the big stars like Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Shahid Kapoor. But finally, the wait has seemed to end for Udta Punjab people waiting to go see the movie as the Bombay High Court have finally passed its issue settling judgement claiming that audience can easily differentiate right from wrong and are sensible enough.
The judge stated “Audience is mature, let the audience decide. How can you say which word is right and which is wrong? Today’s audience is smart and intelligent. They know what is right and what is wrong. Film industry is not a glass which has to be handled with care. What’s the point of making a film if you cut majority of scenes from it? Also, you want to remove the word ‘Punjab’ from the title, which is pointless,”
Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) chief Pahlaj Nihalani told that never really ask to change the name of the film. According to PTI, Nihalani told that nine members of Central Board Of Film Certification watched the movie and cleared without a doubt after the 13 cuts that were proposed. “We have today cleared Udta Punjab under A (restricted for adult audience) category after 13 cuts,” Nihalani told the reporters.
Now, the Bombay High Court has a verdict for today and has asked the makers of the movie to add a disclaimer at the start of the film.
