WOW! Did you realize that the Gujarati movie Chhello Divas has been re-made into a Bollywood film Days of Tafree! This is really a moment of pride for the Gujarati Cinema and the people associated with it.
Days of Tafree has been directed and written by Krishnadev Yagnik and has been produced by Anand Pandit and Rashmi Sharma. The movie revolves around the lives of seven friends, showcasing their journey of growing up, highs and lows of their relationships, love and compassion, end of college days and the beginning of a new life. The trailer was received with applause taking everyone back to their college days, first crushes, naive fights and unending mischief. The actors in Days of Tafree are Yash Soni as Nikhil, Ansh Bagri as Vicky, Sanchay Goswami as Suresh, Nimisha Mehta as Pooja, Kinjal Rajpriya as Nisha, Sarabjeet Bindra as Daljeet aka Dhulla and Anuradha Mukherjee as Isha.
Krishnadev Yagnik’s Chhello Divas was a runaway hit both from box office and critic’s point of view. The movie had a light-hearted plot line and kept one glued with the funny sequences. One of the most hilarious that stayed back is this nagging girl’s character’s encounter with her boyfriend at a restaurant. The way it was conceptualized was unique and one needs to watch it to believe. She keeps on nagging saying “te mara mate coffee kem mangaivi” and not to forget the climax.
If college days are something that we have left behind then this could be one interesting outing. People may not relate the entire narrative but at least the speech in the end leaves one teary eyed.
I’m sure people who have seen the movie in Gujarati would wait to see its Hindi version too.
Days of Tafree releases September 23. Check out the trailer.
