Life in hostel is full of fun, frolic, laughter, celebration and the art of living in a disordered mess. You make new friends, conduct failed cooking experiments, you learn to be independent and sort out your things. Living away from home makes you stronger but we also miss our family, love and care. Even years after you have left this life behind, some memories are enough to crack you up. It will take you in a cyclone of nostalgia. Hostel life gives you lessons, friends and virtues that you would otherwise never know.

Here are 10 things you can relate to:

#01

Having infinite calls from your mummy dearest. You miss her as much as she misses you. She will ask you if you have eaten, how studies are going, how your hostel friends are, and the list goes on. She wants to know every latest thing about your life at hostel.

#02

You do not remember the last time when you changed the bed sheet or cleaned your room.

#03

Having friends from different parts of the country, you tend to get used to their language as you understand bits of it and you also learn swear words in their language.

#04

You have watched thousands of movies, be it Hollywood or Bollywood. You also have an entire collection of Television series such as FRIENDS, The Big Bang Theory, Pretty Little Liars and list goes on.

#05

You can survive on Maggie and have it every day. Be it fresher’s party, birthdays, pyjama party, farewell or anything Maggie comes to limelight.

#06

Your room mates become your family. You are with them all the time and so you get to know each other quiet well.

#07

You can go wherever you want to, eat whatever you like and buy whatever you want to. No one is going to stop and you also get a friend who becomes you partner-in-crime!

#08

After having the mess food, you realize the value of food cooked at home. You cannot have food outside all the time and so goes with Maggie.

#09

You always see if any government holiday or festival is attached to Sunday so that you can pack your bags and go home for a mini vacation. Your parents also call you home during the weekends and sometimes you also feel homesick.

#10

When you get back to hostel from home, you feel refreshed and also have a bag full of goodies and love from home. You get home made snacks, pickle, sweets and lots of love. Your friends at hostel just wait to attack the food you have got.

These are the days that you will always cherish for a life time. Trust me, when you leave your hostel you will definitely be a better person.
