If you’re an actor, you don’t need any stardom. And if you’re a star, it doesn’t really matter if you can act. This is the mimansa of the industry that Bollywood is. There are so many movies where these actors performed better than the leads and gave credibility to the movies. There are still some niche intellectual population left in India who acknowledge them. We decided to do that too.
1. Bhoomi Pednekar
She debuted opposite Ayushmann Khurana and upto an extent, overshadowed him with her skills. She broke the famous stereotype that a heroine is supposed to be size zero and be glamorous.
2. Tahir Raj Bhasin
Tahir Raj Bhasin impressed a large chunk of audience with his cockiness in films like Mardaani and Force 2, where he played the role of the antagonist.
3. Anand Tiwari
You’d know this guy by his role in Go Goa Gone. Though, he’s done a lot of films where he is the supporting cast. His skill set is commendable as he can play a frightened man and a gangster (Dishkayun) too.
4. Radhika Apte
Need I say anything about her? She’s supposed to be the epitome of Indian Cinema while being too underrated. I really wish she cracks it.
5. Saqib Saleem
He debuted with a Yashraj film, Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge? And then Mere Dad ki Maruti. But the film he should be acknowledged for has to Bombay Talkies.
6. Swara Bhaskar
She plays every character beautifully. It’s almost as if she was made for these characters.
7. Ali Fazal
Freaking Hollywood understood his value, but Bollywood couldn’t. Ehh!
8. Kunal Roy Kapur
Oh Yes! Taran from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. He played almost all the characters too well. He even did a movie with the lead role, but probably nobody even knows about it.
9. Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub
How could we forget Sadik from Raees and Murari from Raanjhanaa? His talent already shines on screen, but when will the audience understand?
10. Jimmy Shergill
This guys known as the Shahrukh Khan of the B-Grade films. He’s not what looks to the eye. He’s something more than that. That side of him shone in Tanu Weds Manu series, Wednesday, and Saheb, Biwi aur Gangster series.
11. Rajkumar Rao
This guy’s name pops up the first in everybody’s heads when the word underrated is mentioned. But then I personally think, he isn’t too underrated anymore. People already know him and he’s getting a lot of offers too. We included him in the list because he has been, or maybe still is, the brand ambassador of Underrated actors.
12. Richa Chaddha
For some reason, she never gets A Grade Films as people relate her with movies like Gangs of Wasseypur. She can do commercial cinema equally well.
13. R Madhavan
He took place in every girls’s heart when his debut film came out, Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein. But where is he now? He currently is known as Farhan from 3 idiots and that is it. His stand-alone film, Saala Khadoos, did not do well on the box office too.
14. Arshad Warsi
He’s such a fine actor, with movies like Munnabhai Series, Dhamaal Series, Golmaal Series. He even acted well in a serious film like Jolly L.L.B. Yet, He couldn’t do the second film because Akshay Kumar is a bigger star.
15. Ronit Roy
This stud rose to fame from the TV Serial, Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Even when he gets supporting roles while he takes all the attention of the audience from the protagonist of the film. He also was T.V’s highest paid actor.
