Entire nation is grieving the loss of 40+ soldiers who were martyred in a terror attack in Pulwama, Kashmir yesterday. While every Indian is praying for the strength to the families of the martyrs, we came across a heartwarming incident from Surat.

In solidarity with the grieving families of the martyrs, Sheth and Sanghvi families of Surat city have cancelled elaborate wedding of their daughter and son, Ami and Meet. And they have decided to donate Rs.5 lacs to various NGOs and Rs.11 lacs to the families of the soldiers in remembrance of the martyrs.

Journalist Kumar Manish shared the graphic circulated by family to announce the cancellation of the wedding.

The circular reads,

On 15th February, wedding of our daughter Ami and son Meet was scheduled. But due to the loss of our 42 soldiers in gastly attacks in Kashmir, both our families have decided to keep the wedding simple.

The circular further says,

We have decided to cancel the wedding dinner tomorrow and donate Rs.5 lacs to various NGOs and Rs.11 Lacs to families of the soldiers in remembrance of the martyrs.

We’re deeply touched by the gesture. We wish and pray for the strength to the families of the departed souls.
