The 16th of February 2019 was not just another normal day for the students of one of India’s top 10 communication institutes – MICA, Ahmedabad. The Spartan Poker organized a huge online poker tournament in the college campus on this day and around 150 young minds participated and won prizes.

The atmosphere of the college was very exciting and students were found having lots of fun. It was very refreshing to see people recognize Poker as a legitimate game. The people are changing their outlook on how they see Poker as a game and not just an amusement activity. And all the credit for this goes to the ‘The Spartan Poker’, India’s leading digital gaming platform. ‘The Spartan Poker’ has previously organized similar events at the Play Lounge Mumbai, IIM Indore, IIM Calcutta, IMT Ghaziabad, and IIM Kozikode.

The folks at ‘The Spartan Poker’ are exceptionally passionate and sincere about the game. They almost made it a habit of consistently coming up with best-in-the-Industry Poker Tournaments. Their events and tournaments are well organized, extremely fair, and involve decent prize monies. The Poker Tournament at MICA gave away a prize money of Rs.75,000 alone!

The Spartan Poker began this year on a very positive note with the January 2019 IOPC crossing the GTD of INR 10+ crores against the initial INR 8+ crores.

When we asked Amin Rozani – Co-Founder and MD of The Spartan Poker, about how he felt after successful completion of the event, he said –

We at The Spartan Poker are happy that we received this opportunity to interact with the students and give them a chance to dust off the stress of studies with this fun/enthralling tournament while also giving them a chance to earn some extra pocket money. We are grateful for all the love the students have showered upon us, during our brief visit to Ahmedabad. We will come up with something exciting for MICA very soon in the future.

He further said,

It was amazing to witness 150 young minds participating in an online poker tournament. The excitement in their eyes was worth observing.

We also asked a few participating students to tell us their thoughts about it.

One of them said,

“This can be a great way to let off some stress of day to day academia and career pressure.”

While another young ma’am said,

“In a way the event was also about celebrating our Childhood memories of several weird and crazy card games!”

While many of the youngsters were fully aware of the game and its techniques, there were also those who were introduced to the game of Poker for the first time in their lives. It was an extraordinary moment of thrill and enjoyment for them!
