There are different ways of starting a New Year and we, at BuddyBits, chose to start 2021 with the release of our first-ever Web Series. Yes, we are officially releasing our first Web Series – “Starting Troubles” on the 15th of January, 2021.
Tell us – What are you passionate about? Is your passion also your profession? If not, how do you strike a balance between both? Are you satisfied with your life? Or are you hungry for more? There are only the few of many questions that will “start troubling” you during the course of this Web Series.
Starting Troubles is the story of a very expressive and passionate Doctor – Jagdish Chaturvedi, who is always hungry for more. While sometimes the world cannot match his pace & hunger, sometimes it’s him who is unable to match the world’s. And it is this mismatch that paves the way for a hilarious journey filled with love, laughter, and more as he ends up “starting troubles” while multitasking between passion, profession, entrepreneurship, and family life. The events of this 6-episode web-series are based on the real life incidents mentioned in Dr. Jagdish’s best-selling autobiography called “Inventing Medical Devices” and this very realistic (literally) & humorous journey is all set to start troubles on 15th of January, 2021.
Dr. Shweta Malick, a radiologist and film-writer based out of New York film institute read this book and was interested to write a web-series screenplay based on it and initiated the idea to adapt it for TV. This excitingly unique Web Series is written by Dr. Shweta Malik and Abhinav Kamal.
Abhinav Kamal, who was the Assistant Director for Bollywood film STREE, has also directed the entire web series. We have managed to put together a thrilling cast for the show including incredible cameos.
The cast includes – the “Hum Aapke Hai Kaun” fame Renuka Sahane as Dr. Kavita, The “3 Idiots” fame Parikshit Sahni as the Dean, the “Munnabhai M.B.B.S” fame Kurush Deboo as Dr. Joseph, the world-renowned innovator & comedian Dr. Jagdish Chaturvedi playing himself, popular South Indian actor Rajesh PI as Dr. Venky, theatre actor Anushka Nair as Dr. Varsha, the “Laakhon Mein Ek” fame Jui Pawar as Dr. Sunita, and TV Actor Bharat Chawla as Dr. Manja.
Oh, and there’s more! The web series boasts of exciting cameos by Stand up Comedians Rahul Subramanian (known for his Amazon special “Kal Mai Udega”), Sanjay Manaktala (known for the IT guy series), Praveen Kumar (known for his Tamil comedy), Manish Tyagi (known by the name Knotty commander), Navin Noronha, and Mandar Bhide.
The famous Radio Jockeys Aditi Raval from Gujarat (also a popular social media influencer) and Sonu Venugopal from Bangalore also have interesting cameo appearances.
